UN Human Rights Council Sessions


  • The 25th Session of the UN Human Rights Council will run from March 3-28, 2014 in Geneva. The session will focus on the human rights situation in several countries including North Korea (and implementation of recommendations of the groundbreaking COI report), Sri Lanka, Iran, Burma, Central African Republic and Syria, among others. In addition, more than 25 special procedure mandate holders will be appointed at this session; and the mandates of several thematic and country-specific special rapporteurs are up for renewal including Special Rapporteurs on torture, on freedom of opinion and expression, on human rights defenders, and on Iran, Burma and the Occupied Territories.
