UN Human Rights Council Sessions

  • The 27th Session of the UN Human Rights Council was held from September 8-26, 2014 in Geneva. It was preceded by a special session on Iraq on September 1. The 27th HRC Session focused on the human rights situation in several countries among them: Syria, Ukraine, Sudan, Central African Republic, Somalia, DRC and Yemen. High level panels and reports focused on prevention of genocide, human rights and transitional justice, the right to privacy in the digital age, safety of journalists, equal political participation, and protection of the family.
