Founded in 1971 with a mission to ensure greater protection of the universal rights of all, the Jacob Blaustein Institute for the Advancement of Human Rights (JBI) has worked tirelessly to prevent genocide and hold perpetrators of atrocities to account, to combat religious intolerance and discrimination of all kinds, to support the work of human rights defenders, and to strengthen the effectiveness of the international human rights machinery at the United Nations and beyond.
A 5-minute video launched today highlights some of JBI's most important achievements on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
